Job Description: Receptionist

This position within the practice team utilises numerous office skills and offers many opportunities to communicate with patients. Staff members receive 28 days paid holiday calculated pro-rata for part time. Staff are paid by electronic transfer at the end of the month and are offered enrolment in the NEST Pension scheme.

The Receptionist will;
Create a good impression of the practice by being our first patient contact
Maintain the waiting room standards
Process paper notes correctly
Answer the phone and make computerised appointments
Collect fees from patients
Chase bad debts
Become computer literate
NOT offer clinical advice.

Appearance

The receptionist should be turned out in smart dress, as the receptionist sets the tone of the practice.

Arrangements for supervision & Training
The post involves self-supervision and a degree of audit by fellow receptionists. Training is through sharing experiences of established staff and outside courses as and when they become available. The practice fully embraces "Investors in People" thinking.
