• Job Description: Receptionist

  • This position within the practice team utilises numerous office skills and offers many opportunities to communicate with patients. Staff members receive 28 days paid holiday calculated pro-rata for part time. Staff are paid by electronic transfer at the end of the month and are offered enrolment in the NEST Pension scheme.
  • The Receptionist will;

  • Create a good impression of the practice by being our first patient contact
  • Maintain the waiting room standards
  • Process paper notes correctly
  • Answer the phone and make computerised appointments
  • Collect fees from patients
  • Chase bad debts
  • Become computer literate
  • NOT offer clinical advice.
  • Smoking

  • Being committed to patient well being this practice has a firm No Smoking policy on the premises.
  • Appearance

  • The receptionist should be turned out in smart dress, as the receptionist sets the tone of the practice.
  • Arrangements for supervision & Training

  • The post involves self-supervision and a degree of audit by fellow receptionists. Training is through sharing experiences of established staff and outside courses as and when they become available.
