"There is a warm and friendly atmosphere that you notice as soon as you walk into the reception area of the Practice. Many dental practices adopt a 'clinical' environment for the reception that quite properly is carried through to the surgery. However, such an environment may not put patients at ease. The difference at East Street Dental Practice is that the reception area is deliberately designed to be relaxing (as much as a surgery can be!) with comfortable leather seating that provides enough space for people to keep to themselves if they wish. Moreover, staff need no encouragement to be friendly and welcoming and at the same time presenting a professional approach. The surgeries too are colour coded and equipped with modern technology and an emphasis on high standards of hygiene. The Assessor observed patients waiting for treatment and booking appointments and could see that patient care is the first priority."
